Marrying Young – Video

Couples are on average getting married later than they did in previous generations.  According to the last U.S. Census the average age for a woman to marry was 25.1 years and for men it was 26.7 years.  This is a big change from the days when it was common to get married right out of high school.  Perhaps this is why when we think of couples getting married very young we tend to think of couples from long ago or couples dealing with unexpected pregnancy.

But what about the modern day couples who want to get married because they feel that they are ready to take this next big step in their relationship?  Does getting married young hurt your chances of having a successful marriage?  Take a look at what the advice panel has to see about marrying young.

I think there is a bit more to it than just maturity.

It has to do with finances, commitment and opportunity cost.

Commitment of raising the child for 18 plus years with your undivided attention.

Opportunity cost refers to what you are giving up such as your career vs. having a child.

Great Videos! I think marrying young is the best you can do! If a couple love each other, they should marry as soon as possible. My sister had her baby when she was 17 and she is still happy with her husband.
